Bode Akindele Yield Initiative (BAYI) is a Faith-based, non-profit youth focused NGO. The acronym for ‘Youth, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Development is ‘YIELD’.
Base on the initiative, passion and drive by the founder of BAYI to spark the light of youth entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, Chief Bode Akindele has deemed it fit to sponsor the Bode Akindele Youth Initiative with which he is positively impacting the youth.
The Vice Chancellor expressed his profound gratitude to several partnering bodies that are involved in raising the bar of the society by investing in the students of the University of Ibadan to secure a brighter future.
This was said at the commissioning of BAYI-UI Main Club on Thursday, 8 October, 2018 at the Chief Subomi Balogun Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
More than 40 students were chosen from different faculties of the University of Ibadan and were inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor and were certified.
Pastor Tunji Agboola, Executive Director, BAYI, earlier announced that “the goal of BAYI was to win millions of youth to say YES to YIELD and NO to Drug Abuse and other social vices through the provision of platforms that stimulate and support Youth, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Development.
Present at. the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic), Prof. (Adeyinka Aderinto; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo; University Librarian, Dr. Helen Komolafe-Opadeji; Provost, College of Medicine, Prof. Oluwabunmi Olapade-Olaopa snd the Provost, Postgraduate College, Prof. Jonathan Babalola, Prof. Oluyemisi Bamgbose, (SAN), Dr. Ikeoluwapo Moody, Deputy Registrar (Academic); Director, Centre for Drug Discovery, Development and Production, Prof. Oludele Itiola and students from the International School, Abadina Grammar School and Abadina College, University of Ibadan.
